Lesley Choyce. Smoke and Mirrors. Shortlisted title

Beth Goobie. Flux.

  • Flux is a very amazing book. The idea of the plot is very interesting, and it kept me hooked until the last page. The characters are believable and complicated, and the description enables the reader to picture both the scenery and characters, as well as feel what the characters are feeling. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone, because I cannot think of one thing that I would want to change in it. 5Q 4P. VM, 14.

Marilyn Halvorson. Blue Moon.

Tom Henighan.  Mercury Man

Katherine Holubitsky. The Hippie House. Shortlisted title

Ibi Kaslik. Skinny Shortlisted title

Gordon Korman. Son of the Mob: Hollywood Hustle.

  • I was very pleased to find out about this new sequel to the original Son of the Mob. I enjoyed the first novel; full of excitment, danger, and dry humor. Gordon Korman's second installment didn't disappoint. The change of setting (California) was a pleasant change to the book, and I enjoyed all of the the new (and old) characters. The story somewhat reminded me of Harry Potter in the fact that it's a story where everything that can go wrong WILL go wrong.
    A very good sequel! 4Q 4P. EH, 14.
